Privacy policy

Your privacy matters to me. This privacy policy explains which personal data I collect through this website, why I do so, how long I keep it and what rights you have. It follows the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data do I collect and why?

Contact form, email and WhatsApp

When you fill in the contact form, I receive your name, your email address, your phone number (if you enter it) and your message. I only use this data to answer your question and, if you wish, to prepare a quote or design. Your IP address is also stored with each message, to prevent abuse and spam. The same applies when you email me, call me or send a WhatsApp message directly.

Legal basis: your consent (the tick box under the form) and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR).

Retention: I keep your message for at most two years after our last contact. On the website itself, form messages are deleted automatically after two years. If your question becomes a project, I keep the data as long as the project requires and as long as my legal accounting obligations require.

With your consent, I measure how the website is used so I can improve it. For this I use:

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.): which pages are viewed, for how long, on what kind of device and from which region. I do not share this data for advertising.
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd.): how visitors click and scroll, as anonymised recordings and heatmaps. Anything you type into form fields is masked.

These services only load after you click "Accept all" in the cookie notice or switch statistics on. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.

Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Google and Microsoft may process data in the United States; both take part in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Security and operation of the website

To keep the website secure and available, my hosting provider and Cloudflare process technical data such as your IP address and browser type, for example to block attacks and spam. This data is kept only briefly.

Legal basis: my legitimate interest in a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies

  • artisu_consent (necessary, 6 months): remembers your cookie choice.
  • _ga and _ga_… (statistics, 2 years): Google Analytics, only with your consent.
  • _clck (1 year), _clsk (1 day) and MUID (1 year) (statistics): Microsoft Clarity, only with your consent.
  • __cf_bm (necessary, 30 minutes): Cloudflare, to protect the website against bots.

The fonts are loaded from this website itself. No connection is made to Google Fonts for them.

Who do I share your data with?

I never sell your data. I only share it with service providers needed to run the website and my email: my hosting and email provider, Cloudflare (security) and, with your consent, Google and Microsoft (statistics). They may only use your data for that service. Where data ends up outside the European Economic Area, this happens with appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access your data and receive a copy;
  • have incorrect data corrected;
  • have your data deleted;
  • restrict or object to the processing;
  • receive your data in a common format (portability);
  • withdraw your consent at any time.

To do so, send an email to [email protected]. I will reply within one month.

Complaints

Not happy with how I handle your data? Please let me know first so we can find a solution together. You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.

Security

The website uses a secure connection (HTTPS). Messages are only stored on the website's server and in my mailbox. Only I and the website administrator have access to them, through a secured login.

Changes

I may update this privacy policy, for example when the website changes. The date below shows when it was last updated.
