About this project
The brief
Turning an old Limburg miner’s house into a modern, warm home, without losing the character of the house.
The design
Miners’ houses often have small, closed rooms. By rethinking the layout we created more light and a better connection between the rooms. The new kitchen is the heart of the house and brings cooking and living together.
Materials and details
- Warm materials that suit the history of the house.
- An open layout where possible, keeping the original atmosphere.
- Made-to-measure work that makes good use of every square metre.
An old house with a new life: modern living, with respect for what was already there.
